The St Albans Striders membership year runs from April to March each year, concurrent with the England Athletics membership year.
With a multitude of events cancelled over the weekend due to the inclement weather, a number of brave St Albans Striders made it into London early on Sunday to take on The Big Half Marathon, alongside household names such as Mo Farah and Callum Hawkins.
Nigel Aston got a new PB of 1:27:13, with Doug Hobson seconds behind in 1:27:44. Max Campbell was next in1:31:57, followed by Jonathan Bird 1:35:47 and Wendy Walsh 1:36:37. Nicky Laitner got a three-minute PB of 1:37:55. Also finishing were Richard Olney 1:42:06, Karen Sheard 1:44:49, Claire Hobson 1:47:16, Rose McGinness 1:49:03, Jaimi Wallin 1:52:03, Hannah Prentice 1:55:15 (PB), and Rachel Aldridge 2:05:38.
In the Cambridge Half Marathon Simon Fraser got a new PB of 1:15:49, coming 28th out of more than 7,000 finishers. Matt Jane also finished with a new PB in 1:42:11.
