Four St Albans Striders took part in the Bearbrook 10K in Wendover on Sunday. Steve Buckle was third overall in 34:35, Nigel Aston 28th in 40:39, Colin Braybrook came in at 43:39, and Colin Egleton was 3rd MV70 in 59:12.

Elsewhere two serial marathon runners from the club kept up the habit despite the warm temperatures at the weekend. 

Ian Hirth took ninth place in the Thames Summer Marathon, a four-lap event taking in the views along the Thames Path between Walton and Hampton Court Palace.

Jack Brooks ticked off another marathon at the Forest Trail Marathon in Coleford in sweltering conditions.

Matt and Heather Hann were first male and female finishers at St Albans parkrun, while Wendy Walsh was also first female at Aldenham parkrun.
