A busy week with club members running in a wide variety of races

Mandy Attree and Carole & Michael Jack ran the National Cross Country championships held at Harewood House in Leeds on Saturday. The well-organised event saw over 1000 ladies and more than 2000 men compete. Perfect weather helped with the testing and undulating course. Carole said "The hills were long and never seemed to end! But we would definitely do this course again - it was worth well the trip!" Picture shows Mike Jack nearing the finish.

Several Striders achieved Personal Best times in Half Marathons on Sunday, including Lewis Simpson-Jones (1:19:56) and Andrew McKillop (1:18:44), both at Wokingham; and Gareth Parker (1:22:34) who finished in position 105 (of 12,000) in the Brighton Half.

Jack Brooks took another step towards his 500th Marathon by running the Chasewater Country Park Trail Marathon near Walsall on Saturday in a time of 4:44:06

Striders also ran at parkrun events, with Stephen Hosty finishing first at Kew Woods in Southport; Kate Burn first lady to finish at Jersey Farm; and Jenny Maddocks fastest lady at the first ever Dunstable Downs parkrun.
