Despite racing generally taking a back seat to preparations for the festive season at this time of the year, over 40 Striders took part in the third fixture in the cross-country Sunday League at Fairlands Valley in Stevenage this week. Heavy rain in recent days meant runners faced quagmire conditions on parts of the course, although the race itself was run in bright winter sunshine.

Jonathan Scott and cross-country captain Richard Evans were the first Striders home, followed by Jordan Lister and Mike Martin. Lucy Jones and Wendy Walsh were fastest of the Striders women.
