Joining Striders

Run With Striders

Once a year we run a 6 week introductory course to the running club, we offer a rounded introduction to group led road runs, track sessions, hill training and more! Available to faster runners who want a gentle introduction into a running club, through to those who would like to increase their running distance or pace. But overall, fun based sessions and a very easy way to make friends. The Run with Striders course starts in May each year.

More information is available on this link.

Entries are now open for RWS 2024. Email webmaster@stalbansstriders.com to be granted website access and then sign up for the Run With Striders course.

Although new members are always welcome every week, we would encourage you to join us for Tea Night on the first Tuesday of the month, if you are coming along for the first time. You can join us for a cup of tea and a chat to ask any questions you may have. Email membership@stalbansstriders.com first with a bit of background about your running.

England Athletics membership

Registration with England Athletics is compulsory for runners who intend to represent their club in races conducted under UKA rules. These include many of the major and local road races and the Chiltern League cross-country events.

We therefore recommend that you register as a 1st Claim member when you join Striders, this option will include the annual EA fee.

This is open to British nationals resident in England and to foreign athletes who register as such with EA. Your EA membership will entitle you to reduced race entry prices and to run as a Strider in a club vest, appear in results listings as a Strider and be eligible for team prizes and county medals. Without EA membership you can, of course, still race in UKA events as an unattached runner.
