Volunteers Needed for the Stampede – Saturday 1st September

It’s now a month to go the third St Albans Striders Stampede 12 hour Enduro on Saturday 1st September and lots of help is needed to make this the fantastic event we all hope for. Volunteers are needed throughout the day to help with the pre-race organisation, for marshalling and help with the food. The race runs from 9:00am through to 9:00pm and help will be needed from 7:00am through to about 10:00pm. The list of roles includes;

• Marshals - all day
• HQ general help - all day
• Catering assistance – all day
• Car park 7:00 to 9:00
• HQ number collection 7:00 to 8:30
• Last lap in the dark buddy runners 19:30 till last runner home
• Last runner sweep 20:45
• Course clear up 21:00 to 22:00
• HQ clear up 22:00 to 23:00

We don’t expect anyone to be there all day, although if that’s what you want to do then great. For the Marshals and all-day jobs (HQ and Catering), we are going to use four shifts of 3 hours each again this year. You can do as many shifts as you want, so if you want to do a morning shift and then come back later in the day then that will also be very welcome. Do not forget this is a fun day, so family and friends are very welcome to help as well.

The shifts will be;

• Shift one 08:30 to 12:00
• Shift two 11:30 to 15:00
• Shift three 14:30 to 18:00
• Shift four 17:30 to 21:00
