The St Albans Striders membership year runs from April to March each year, concurrent with the England Athletics membership year.
The cost for club membership for the full year or any part of it is £27. If you have volunteered at a Striders event between 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2018 then you are eligible for volunteer membership at the discounted rate of £17.
As a member of Striders you have the opportunity to take part in various Track and Field events throughout the year in conjunction with our sister club St Albans AC.
To take part in track and field competitions, you need to have current England Athletics membership with St Albans Striders. If you don't have this, please complete the EA membership form on the Annual Membership page. As Striders are not licensed for track and field, you also need to be affiliated with St Albans AC. To do this you will need to complete the UKA other discipline form. Contact Mike Martin (Chairman) for assistance with this.
Southern Athletics League (SAL)
This league comprises of various clubs from throughout the south of England. There are three divisions in the Southern Athletics League. Next season St Albans AC will be in Division 2. The fixtures for the 2019 will be :-
13 April 2019 - Tooting
19 May 2019 - Hemel Hempstead
15 June 2019 - St. Albans
13 July 2019 - Croydon
17 August 2019 - St. Albans

Herts and North Middlesex Masters League
These events are open to members over 35 years old. There are four matches during the season that take place on Monday evenings (Between May and July). The fixtures for next season are yet to be announced.

Hertfordshire County Championships
There are a number of county championship events throughout the season. Individuals can enter their chosen event(s) with a chance to win county medals. The events for the 2019 season are yet to be announced.
The different events including Indoor Champs, Outdoor (main) Champs, Pentathlon & 3000m and a 10,000m race.

For those who are 35 years old or over, there are a number of Regional and national events throughout the season. For more information of events see the British Masters website.
If you are looking to enter a British masters event you will also need to join a Vets association such as Southern County Vets. For more information contact Brian Yeomans.
There are several open track and field meetings held locally at Watford and Lee Valley. If you are looking to give something a try, practice for upcoming competitions or are looking for a PB then these are ideal.
