St Albans Annual Dinner 2016 - Saturday 19th November 2016

Venue: The Conservatory at the Luton Hoo Walled Garden (please note this is NOT Luton Hoo Hotel, and access is from a different road)

Time: 7.30pm - Arrival Drinks, Dinner at 8pm. Finish at 1am (we have an extended license for dancing!)


Parking: Parking is available, and cars can be left overnight till 11am on Sunday. 

Dress Code: Black Tie / Dress to Impress!


Ticket Price: £35 members / £40 non members.

Striders’ Weekend Away 2017 
(5th to 7th May)

The 2017 Striders Weekend Away will take place in Swanage, Dorset from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th May, 2017 – full details are below!

  • Cost: £84.50 per person for fully-paid up Striders members – which includes your Friday evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch for Saturday, Saturday evening BBQ and Sunday morning breakfast.
  • Numbers: Open to 40 members (plus reserves) – although this may be increased.
  • Booking: Opens at 9pm on Monday, 6 March (see below).
  • Accommodation: similar to last year, shared rooms of 4 to 6 people. We will ask for the names of one or two people who you would like to share with when you make your booking, although if you don’t mind then please leave blank.  Mixed rooms are permitted unless you expressly request a same sex only room.
  • Venue: YHA Swanage, Cluny, Cluny Crescent, Swanage, Dorset, BH19 2BS. You can view the venue via:
Itinerary for the weekend:
Friday evening
• Check-in from 5pm.  However, for those who are able to take a day/half-day off work, there will be a group activity in the afternoon.
• Evening meal (provided) followed by team quiz. 
• As is now customary, we’ll start the day with the local Parkrun!
• There will be a variety of pursuits on offer throughout the day on Saturday – from running to biking, walking or exploring the local area.  Again, to help with the planning, we will ask for an indication of your interests when booking, although you can of course change your mind on the day.
• Evening - Striders’ Beach Party BBQ!  Bring warm clothing! J   
• Optional morning run plus a pub lunch (not included) for those who want it, before heading back to St Albans. 
In order to make it as fair as possible for members to be able to book, you are being given advance notice of places going on sale.  The link for bookings will go live on the Payments and Sign Up’s section of the Members area at 9pm on Monday, 6 March.
The full payment of £84.50 will be required at this time.  If for would like to attend but your personal circumstances mean that the cost is prohibitive, please contact the Chair in the strictest of confidence.
